Life of Faith in Our Parish
At the heart of the life of faith in St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Parish are the celebration of the sacraments and Holy Mass, communal prayer, and spiritual growth. Explore the occasions and important moments that form part of the faith life of our parish community.
Sacraments and Milestones of Christian Life
The sacraments accompany the major milestones of Christian life. From Baptism to Marriage, the life of the faithful is accompanied by the Church at moments of particular importance.
Baptism
Baptism is the sacrament through which Christian life begins and a person enters into the communion of the Church.
First Holy Communion
For children and young people, First Holy Communion marks an important step in their first full participation in receiving Holy Communion.
Confirmation
Confirmation is the sacrament through which the grace of Baptism is strengthened and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are received, deepening the bond between the faithful and the Church.
Marriage
In the Sacrament of Marriage, a man and a woman make a lifelong commitment before God to love and remain faithful to one another.
Prayer and Liturgy
Prayer and the liturgy are an integral part of daily life in our parish community. They provide opportunities for spiritual reflection, communal prayer, and living out the faith together.
Holy Masses
The Holy Mass is at the heart of Catholic worship and the liturgical life of the parish community.
Litanies
A form of communal prayer in which the faithful turn to God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the saints, asking for their intercession.
Rosary
The Rosary leads us to meditate on the mysteries of Christ’s life and to seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Spiritual Renewal
Parish life also includes opportunities for repentance, silence, and personal prayer.
Confession
The Sacrament of Penance offers the faithful the opportunity to confess their sins, receive reconciliation, and renew their relationship with God.
Eucharistic Adoration
A time of quiet prayer and attentive presence before Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

Faith Accompanies Us Throughout Life
Christian life cannot be confined to a particular stage of life or to occasions celebrated in church. From Baptism and First Holy Communion through Confirmation and Marriage, the Church accompanies the faithful at important moments of their lives. The Sacrament of Penance and the Anointing of the Sick accompany us on the journey of repentance, healing, and spiritual strength.
Through the celebration of Holy Mass and the Church’s liturgical prayer, the parish community worships together in faith. The Rosary, Litanies, Eucharistic Adoration, and personal prayer also provide time for silence, reflection, and turning towards God. The life of faith is therefore both communal and personal, present in our celebrations as well as in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
